The Role

Leads automation testing of Residential Gateway and CPE devices in a lab environment.  Identifies appropriate hardware and software combinations necessary to accurately recreate field scenarios that capture device performance.  Runs test cases and troubleshoots test case failures to identify the root cause.  Is the Subject Matter Expert for automation testing for CPE.  Work with the DUT vendor to identify proper architectures to make features and functions operate as designed and intended in requirements.  Work with Lumen Architects to verify requirements are met and understood. Write testing in the lab and present to the vendor and internal stakeholders on results and status.  Create and maintain automation test case and test plan documentation and results reporting.  This central role is responsible for designing test Automation solutions for the team and implementing them in the lab.

This is a hybrid position based out of Denver, CO.

  • Exhibit a high command of the skills and technology related to Access equipment, including the OSI model, IP, Routing, Wi-Fi, Security, ITU standards, RFCs, and more.

  • Demonstrate Subject Matter Expert-level experience with WiFi performance testing across protocols 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax.

  • Experience with Python or similar automation scripting

  • Experience working with SOAP and RestAPI messaging

  • Experience in API Design, Programming, Integration, and Testing

  • Design and implement test cases, build test plans, and demonstrate responsibility for configuring and setting up test environments, including basic scripting.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualification

  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field required or equivalent work experience or MS in same fields preferred or equivalent work experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in Computer Networking and Testing/Troubleshooting

  • Thorough understanding of Linux and commonly used shell versions in consumer electronics.

  • Knowledgeable in Ethernet and Wi-Fi performance levels and requisite testing.

  • Working knowledge of RG OSes (OpenWRT, OpenSync, EasyMesh, Prpl, etc.)

  • Experience leading projects and being a subject matter expert, skilled in troubleshooting, and well-versed in test lab operations

  • Ideally have one or more of: CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, CWNP, CCIE, JNCIE, CISSP, CEH, OSCP ACSA, MS certs (Power, Azure, Security)

Preferred Qualification

  • MS / M Tech / BS / B Tech degree in Computer Science, related technical field preferred, or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of telecommunications, specifically with VoIP protocols such as SIP

  • Experience in large-scale data mining and big data solution implementation and deployment experience- Visual intelligence and predictive

  • Universe Design - single and multi-source is required

  • Universe Relational, OLAP, and BICS real Time Universe experience.

  • Universe alias, loop, and security experience

  • Industry experience with DevOps and ITIL certifications and demonstrate ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications .

Location Based Pay Ranges

$104,360 - $139,140 in these states: CO

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
